Quasistatic Vs Non-quasistatic Process

In thermodynamics, all processes fall into two categories: Quasistatic or Non-quasistatic. 
A quasi-static process is a thermodynamic process that happens slowly enough for the system to remain in internal equilibrium. While a non-quasistatic process is carried out in such a way that at every instant the system departs finitely from thermodynamic equilibrium state.

Comparison Between Quasistatic Vs Non-quasistatic Processes
(1) Thermodynamics processes are mainly of two types, quasi-static and non-quasistatic. Quasistatic processes can be of two types reversible or Irreversible while Non-quasistatic processes are always Irreversible one.
(2) A process in which two nearest state are always in equilibrium is called a quasi static process. This process takes place at an infinitesimal speed. Similarly, if two nearest states in a process are not under equilibrium then it is a non quasi-static process.
(3) Quasistatic processes don't occur in nature while all natural processes occurring in the universe are irreversible and non-quasi-static.
(4) Quasi-static process is an idealization of real processes while Non-quasistatic processes are real processes.
(5) Quasi-static process is done so slowly, that at any instant, it is hardly changing, it is almost static. While Non-quasistatic processes happen very fast in nature.
(6) Let us see the difference between quasi-static and non-quasistatic process with the help of a curve;
Between two states A and B, two types of processes take place. First, a quasi-static process in which the system passes through all states (or all the intermediate states are known), so the process path is drawn between A and B. Whereas the second, non-quasistatic in which intermediate states are not known, only the initial and final states are known so the process path between A and B is not drawn.
☛ Every process in nature, every single thing occurring across the universe is irreversible.
