Quasistatic Processes
Quasistatic Processes
The word quasi static actually means almost static. "A process in which two nearest state are always in equilibrium is called a Quasi-Static Process". This process takes place at an infinitesimal speed. Quasi-static means very slowly & we don’t see it happening. A quasi-static process is divided into two types: Reversible and Irreversible process."In general, there is no much difference between quasi static and reversible process. Often these both are used synonymusly to each other. But in actual case, quasi static process without friction is termed as reversible. Because if friction exists, then entropy of the system increases, thereby makes the system irreversible".
(The slow process in which all the states through which process passes are in equilibrium with one another)
For example…
1] Expansion of railway tracks in daytime. Suns heat causes the metal to expand slowly at a rate such that it can’t be seen. That’s why sufficient margin is provided in between.
2] Growing of trees from little infant ones to big tall one.
3] Growing of our hair, nails.
4] Expansion of our galaxy & universe.
5] Growing fat… we realize it but not instantly…😂😂
